How to Pick the Best Printer for Your Money

 There are a few things to consider before buying a printer for your household.  You need to know what all it will be used for, how many computers will be using it and where it will be setup. Today we have several different ways to connect your printer to your computer.  There are wireless printers, hardwired network printers, and usb printers.  If you already have a network setup in your house then you have way more options available to set the printer up.  If its wireless then you can put it almost anywhere in the house that you have power.  I would strongly recommend setting up the printer on the network if it is available. It makes life easy for everyone in the household when sharing a centralized printer.

Knowing how many computers will connect to the printer is important.  A networked printer, whether it be wired or wireless, is going to be the best option and easiest to setup.  If it will only be one computer then you may go with the more conventional usb connection. 

 Now to address the most common error when buying the printer.  Buying the cheapest printer on the shelf is not always the cheapest printer in the long run.  When I shop for printers I skip ahead and shop for ink first.  Once I have found a cheap ink I look for a compatible printer.  I learned this a few years back when I got an all-in-one printer.  Only paid $90 for the entire printer brand new. One year later my ink ran out, went to buy more and was caught off guard when they told me it would be $75.  Lets just say I didnt buy the ink and went out shopping for printers again. I vowed to never make that mistake again.
